Sometimes life gets hard, but that’s just how life is. Sometimes we allow ourselves to believe that we deserve less just because life gets hard. Sometimes we get rejected from something we wanted more than anything. Sometimes we lose people we cared about and loved. Sometimes everything you have to give just isn't good enough. So yes, life can get hard, but those hardships will pass, and you will come out stronger than before.

However, it is so important to remember that you are not the hardships that life throws at you. You are not that missed opportunity, you are not your imperfections, you are not that rejection, and you are not your mistakes, failures, and regrets. You cannot define yourself based off of the things that life threw at you and the things that just didn’t work out and go as you had planned. When things like this happen it is important to take the time to look closer at ourselves and realize what we deserve. We need to stop looking at what we think are our flaws and focus on the fact that after we are able to look past our flaws, we can see the beautiful things we have been blessed with in our life. We deserve so much more than we give ourselves credit for. We deserve to be somebody’s first choice. We deserve to feel like we mean something to someone. We deserve to be surrounded with people that pour love into us whenever we are with them. When you understand what you mean to yourself, you will understand what you should mean to those around you.

I think the best way to help turn around a bad day, week, etc. is to pour love into other people and fill people’s cups as much as full as possible. When you pour love and fill people’s cups up, know that this is an opportunity for you to change a person’s life. Remember that when you are pouring yourself and love in to others that it isn’t about who or what you’re loving but why you are loving on them and filling their cup. If you spread the positivity and love to others you will be able to give them hope and that is something we should all aspire to do each and every day.

Each and every day, when you wake up, decide that you are going to be the best version of yourself that day, that you are going to pour yourself and love into as many people as possible, and that you are going to be a ray of sunshine in that person's life that day in that moment. If you do this every day, I promise you will never have another bad day.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
