"What are you wearing?" "Why is your hair like that?" "You're job is stupid." "You are so ugly." "Why are you acting like that?" "You're a girl why are you dressed like that?" "Who plays video games anymore." "Why are you watching that show it's stupid." "Why are you so short?" "Get thinner" "You're to thin." "You're opinion is stupid."
The list goes on and on. The real question is why can't we be different? Everyone spends their time thinking about how they are going to impress so and so, or what they are going to wear so society thinks they are normal. Personally I think we should be able to act, wear, and think however we want. No one should stop you or tell you what you are doing is stupid or out of the norm.
If you want to wear something. Wear it. If you want to speak a certain way. Go ahead. If you want to be called something else, then everyone should respect your wishes and call you that. If you want to play video games, play them. If you want to watch anime, then watch anime. The point is do not let anyone tell you your hobbies, opinions, and life choices are wrong. Now if you are doing something harmful to society that is a different story but that is not what different means.
Being surrounded by people who act the same way can be tough. You may be that book worm always near pumpkin spice latte drinking girls in tight shorts and spray on tans, but just remember if you embrace your differences everything will work out for you in the end. You'll stand out in the crowd, yeah it may be tough when you are younger but once everyone grows up they may think your differences are 'cool.' Even though they were when everyone was mocking you.
It is okay to be different. No, it is amazing to be different. Embrace who you are and in then end everything will work out.
