Before attending college, I thought the word thick referred to a dense braid of hair or a large book. It never occurred to me that thick could refer to a body type. After attempting to set my friend up with a few of my friends, he told me that he was strictly attracted to "thick girls." While at first this idea irked me, due to the fact that it is blatantly "judging a book by its cover," I came to learn that the thick ideal was surprisingly empowering.
With thin models in every magazine, women in this generation are pressured into lusting for thigh gaps and flat chests. But this does not have to be the case. Being thick means that you have everything. It means that you have back, and you're loading some junk in your trunk. It gives women the power to accept what they have and flaunt what they got. This isn't to say that sexualizing women is at all acceptable, but it does give a new and coveted perspective on feeling good in your own skin. So without further ado, here are three ways to identify the sexy thick standard.
1. Legs
Who said you need to have stick-thin legs to be sexy? Strong, voluptuous legs are healthy. Fill in those thighs! As women, we were made with big hips to do God's chore of reproduction. If you've got good old birthing hips, don't shy from showing them in some daisy dukes. You're thick, be proud!
2. Dat Ass
There's a reason that singers since the dawn of time have been singing about the booty. There is something incredibly attractive about a big butt; just look at the Kardashians. Kim's whole rise to stardom was due to what she was (and still is) rocking from behind (or that famous sex tape, you be the judge). Why shy away from some cake if it's going to a place you can shake?
3. Upper Body
I think this speaks for itself.
So there you have it, three ways to identify with being thick. Every body type is beautiful, but many women get down on themselves for not being able to wear a dress because their big booty shows—don't! Be proud of what you have and don't refrain from eating fries and treating yourself. Be healthy and happy with your body.
