Why I'm Thankful For My Best Friend
Taylor Robinson

Recently, I've found best friends in places I never thought I would. In the last few months I found my best friend, who has been there for me more than anyone. It's important to take the time to thank those around you for being in your life and supporting you. So, here is my thanks to my best friend, even though I could never thank you enough for the love and support I've received recently.

1. For sitting with me and watching me ugly cry for a while until I feel better.

2. For listenting to me talk obsessively over a boy I should be over, and kindly telling me I deserve better and to get over it.

3. For late night Wendy's runs and Polar Pop runs.

4. For dressing me and lending me your clothes.

5. For making me laugh when I feel like I can't.

6. For reminding me everything will be okay and I'm strong.

7. For pushing me out of my comfort zone.

8. For spending hours watching 'Shameless' with me.

9. For supporting me in all my decisions.

10. For telling me I deserve better than the boy who broke my heart.

11. For always checking on me when I'm down.

12. For encouraging me to try new things.

13. For helping me grow as a person and build my confidence.

14. For being you.

Remember to always tell those around you that you're thankful to have them in your life and why they mean so much to you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
