It's that spring break time of year and all anyone wants to do is forget about school and pretend it is summer for a week. Most college students are spending their break down south in places like Panama City Beach and Gulf Shores, but here are a few reasons why I'm spending my break at home!
It's Free!
The thing that I love about going home is I am never strapped for cash. I never have to worry about paying for food or gas money because I am going home to my mom's glorious cooking and I am back to driving my mom's car because in the words of my parents "you don't need a car if you don't live here."
It's Warm!
Now I'm pretty lucky because I am an out of state student that is from Arizona so any time that I go home I am going home to gorgeous weather. I'm looking forward to laying out in my 85-degree weather next to my pool in my backyard. But if I am being totally honest I would be doing the same thing if I was from Iowa because once it hit 70 degrees this past week all I wanted to be doing was enjoying the weather.
It's Relaxing!
Spring break is the time for partying ... or in my case sleeping. I enjoy going out just as much as the next college student but I honestly cannot even hide my excitement at being able to go home and avoid the week of massive partying and drinking in places like Panama City Beach and South Padre Island. I fully intend to spend my time by the pool reading and sleeping because as of right now my school work is nonexistent.
Spending time with friends & fam!
If the other reasons I have given haven't been enough, then this reason should put going home for spring break over the top. I love going home and being able to spend time with my friends and family because I only get to see them several times out of the year. I would absolutely love to be able to hang out with my friends from college without having to constantly worry about school work for a week, but for me it is priceless to be able to spend a week with the people I so rarely see.
These are just a few of the reasons I am loving spending my spring break at home, but no matter where you're spending spring break have fun and be safe!
