Have you ever found yourself drifting off at your desk, dreaming of a place with no paperwork, no drama, and no set guidelines? Have you ever dreamed of a world very different from our own? I certainly have. My mind often takes me to the sea. I always loved going to the beach as a kid. I loved splashing around in the water, lying against the sand… it is ecstasy. As a child, and even as a 22-year-old, I love Disney’s "The Little Mermaid"! I always dreamed of being Ariel. Whenever I would go swimming at the pool, I would cross my ankles and try to swim like a mermaid. I’m not going to lie, I still do try to swim like a mermaid sometimes. I envy Ariel, from her bright red hair to her many adventures with Flounder, Sebastian, and Scuttle, she always had me dreaming of what it’s like to be a mermaid.

Mermaids are definitely one of the most intriguing and beautiful mythological creatures. If there is any doubt that mermaids are better than humans, here’s a couple reasons to prove that point.

1. MERMAIDS DON’T HAVE TO SHAVE!

Ok, but seriously… shaving is such a pain. It takes forever, you nick yourself, and there’s always that one large strip of hair that you missed, and it is so annoying. The only good thing about shaving is how smooth your legs feel, but I think I could get over that if it meant never having to shave again.

2. Mermaids can communicate with other undersea creatures.

How cool would it be to have a conversation with a fish? It could be like talking to Dory! Can you imagine the conversations? With how vast the ocean is, there would always be conversations about where they’ve gone and what kind of things they saw.

3. When mermaids die, they turn to sea foam.

This is a tad bit depressing to talk about, but if you think about it, it’s also quite beautiful. Your body and soul will remain in the ocean, crashing in at the shorelines. It’s just poetic.

4. Free seashell bra!

So, this is more for our mer-women, but how cool is this? Bras are so ridiculously expensive, so a free seashell bra sounds pretty appealing.

5. Mermaids can see underwater.

I’m sure many of us have opened our eyes in the pool before, and many of us can do it with no trouble, but trying do so at the beach can have some very painful consequences. The salt burns our eyes, but not mermaid’s.

6. Mermaid’s voices can lure sailors to their deaths.

Again, this seems a bit morbid, but it’s just kind of cool that a soothing melody can take down giant ships.

7. Mermaids don’t get pruney!

Nothing like walking out of the pool and looking like a giant human raisin. That’s always attractive, right?

8. Mermaids can travel and not pay for airfare.

Now of course mermaids have to remain in the water, but each body of water is different, and you get to explore a whole new world without spending a dime.

9. Mermaids have fabulous hair, even though they spend every waking minute in the water.

Seriously, how? I come out of the ocean and my hair is a tangled mess.

10. Mermaids have the most beautiful tails.

I don’t know why, but the idea of having a tail is just so fascinating. Mermaid’s tails allow them to quickly glide through the water, leap to the surface, do a flip, and dive back in as if it were nothing.

Mermaids are beautiful creatures, and I have always wanted to be on e. If you have ever wanted to be a mermaid, Aqua Mermaid is a neat place to check out. They sell mermaid tails and have classes that teach you how to swim like a mermaid.

Dream big. The ocean’s the limit.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
