Having a sister is an amazing thing. They’re there to laugh with you, cry with you, go on adventures with you, etc. Basically, if you have a sister you’re the luckiest person in the world.
Here are just a few reasons why having a sister is the best thing ever:
1. Never ending best friend
Everyone has had a friendship that you thought would last forever and ever but then somehow ended. Your sister will always be a part of your life. Regardless of how much you guys fight and then wait not-so-patiently for the other one to make the first move to get back “normal,” in the end, you’ll always be best friends. No fight with your sister will last forever or damage your friendship.
2. Your own personal beauty coach
Your sister will spend hours teaching you how to shade your eyes or perfect your eyeliner and on top of that, you have your own personal nail artist and hair stylist. It’s like she knows all the tricks; how to avoid razor bumps, how to get rid of under-eye darkness or how to make the craziest makeup combinations work. What else could a girl possibly need?
3. Maid-of-Honor
When it’s your turn to get married and you need a maid-of-honor, not an issue. The only person you could ever really imagine standing right by your side on your big day is obviously going to be your sister.
4. Two closets
You’ll always have two closets to choose from. Need a cute outfit for a date but don’t have anything? Go to your sister’s closet. Have a cute outfit but need the perfect shoes for it? Sister’s closet. Basically, going to your sister’s closet is the answer to any clothing issue you’re having.
5. Partners in crime
If you’re the one in trouble, she’d be sure to have your back and if she was in trouble, no doubt you’d help her out. If someone ever did something to be on your bad side, they made enemies out of the both of you. When it comes down to it, she’d help you hide a body if you needed her to.
6. Twins
You never get tired of people calling you twins especially since mom made the two of you dress identical when you were younger. You have almost the same voice, laugh, hair and facial features. You’re identical right down the level of weirdness you’re on. It’s quite possible the only difference between you two is age and height.
7. You have your own language
It’s weird how it happens but whenever you’re together you talk in a whispered yet fast paced voice that no one else really seems to hear or understand. You can’t stand in the middle of a room full of people and have a conversation because everyone will look at you funny. When you think about it, it’s actually really weird.
8. Inside jokes
Along with having your own language, you have your own funny words, phrases and inside jokes that no one else will get. Having an inside joke, or multiple, is like having a whole other world to be a part of.
9. Life coach
She will teach you everything you need to know from how to handle boys to how to decide what you should and shouldn’t mention to your parents to how to dress for certain occasions. You name it. There isn’t anything that’s too embarrassing for her to handle. She’s been through it before and she’s there to help you through it too.
10. Never alone
You’re never alone and you never will be alone. You’ll always have that one persistent friend by your side, someone you can stay at home with and binge watch TV, travel around the country and/or globe with, live on the same street as, and eventually grow old with. If the two of you are apart for a long time, when you reunite it’ll be as if you never left. You’re stuck with her for a lifetime but you wouldn’t have it any other way.
Overall, a sister is the best friend you could ever ask for. With everything that you and your sister go through, you must admit that there is nothing you would change and no one you would rather spend your time with.
