If you follow media and social culture at all, you should know about Harry Styles and his new solo album. His album hit the music stands and instantly blew up. Fans everywhere wanted to buy his new album and his new songs were being played constantly on hit radio stations.
Not only was Harry Styles solo career completely taking off, but all the other members of One Direction were starting their solo careers also. Niall Horan recently released some singles that blew up the top 40 list, and Liam Payne just this week released a new single as well. Zayn has had ultimate success with his self-titled album and is continuing to destroy the music scene with so much success. Louis Tomlinson recently a collaboration song with Steve Aoki and saw amazing success with this track.
Now as a true fan of One Direction, I'm so proud of the boys and their success after the band. All of them are extremely talented and it's really interesting to hear all of the music that they produce as solo artists. With the music they produce, you can individually see their personalities even more than before. I'm so happy that the boys are continuing their careers in music, but the fact that they are all solo artists now makes me just miss One Direction even more.
With Harry Styles new solo album, the thought of One Direction being over really hit me hard. Of course, I know they've been apart for awhile but I always wanted a reunion. I wanted to proudly go to a One Direction concert and shout that I am a proud Directioner just one more time.
You see, One Direction took up 5 years of my life and those years were some of the most influential years any girl can go through. They grew up with me and in a sense, I feel so connected to them. Not only are we similar in age, but pretty much every song they wrote together as a band I related to from personal experience. They helped me grow up into the person I am today and also shaped me. Going to their concerts was eye opening and some of the best memories I have. But listening to them release their solo music is a bitter sweet moment.
Now, I'm sure I sound like a complete fangirl at the moment. But while I was listening to Harry Style new album, I just kept waiting for the other members of One Direction to chime in. I kept waiting to hear their harmonies and melodic tones blend together just like they always did. Listening to Harry's new album was definitely an eye opener as to what the future of these boys was. I wish them all the best, but a part of me will always believe in One Direction. And I will always secretly hope for a One Direction reunion.
