Because ladies should always be celebrating ladies.

Why Your Girl Friends Are Your Best Friends
Hannah Quire

Guy friends are great. They’re the ones you go to when you want to just chill out for a few hours and not really do anything, the ones you can ask questions about football or cars, the ones who will make sure you get home safe and serve as your personal bodyguards, and function dates when you need them. But there is something intrinsically special about girl friendships that gets shoved under the rug in favor of mocking them. People poke fun at the way girls giggle together, or go shopping and get their nails done together. But female friendships are some of the most valuable ones you can ever have. Here’s why:

1. They always remind you of how amazing you are.

2. They never judge you for how much you eat.

3. They try all the weird Buzzfeed recipes with you. (Often poorly.)

4. They have your back when it comes to boys, no matter what.

5. They will take your phone call at any hour of the day (or night), about any topic.

6. They will trash talk and gush over celebrity red carpets with you.

7. They hate the people you hate.

8. They are always your Valentines.

9. They know when you just need to cry sometimes.

10. And they make sure you have tissues, ice cream, and Netflix at the ready.

11. They also know when need to go out and have a good time instead.

12. The buddy system is always in place. Always.

13. And you have a secret code for when one of you needs to leave ASAP.

14. They jam out with you anywhere. Literally anywhere. Often in public.

15. They’re your go-to for any event: movies, concerts, or just a drive.

16. They know all of your favorite foods, and you know theirs.

17. And so your houses are always stocked and ready when you guys hang out.

18. They know exactly what you need to hear at the right time.

19. And no matter how far apart you are, you are always there for each other.

20. And they’re your best friends 'til the end.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
