For those of you that don’t know, I am a HUGE Parks and Recreation fan. I have seen the entire show…twice. If you have not seen the show, I suggest you drop all responsibilities and binge all 7 seasons (okay, maybe don’t do that, but it is a fantastic show).
I’ve figured out that I am Leslie Knope about 95% of the time, and Garry/Jerry/Larry Gergich the other 5%. I have also come to find out that I love Andy Dwyer. A lot.
To be honest I think every girl deserves an Andy Dwyer in their life. He’s goofy, loyal, spontaneous, and just all around wonderful. He’s not like your typical dreamy hunk muffin most girls think they want; he’s not smooth or chiseled to perfection. Those guys are few and far between and usually made up by movie makers. Andy, however, is fairly realistic (for a character made up by movie makers...); he's a little on the extreme side, but his general qualities are not hard to find in other "real life" men.
Here are 7 reasons why every girl deserves an Andy Dwyer in her life.
1. He loves to make people laugh: Whether he does it on purpose or not, you can’t help but laugh when Andy is in the room. He’s ridiculous, doesn’t always make sense, and he’s not afraid to be a little (okay, a LOT) silly.
2. He’s loyal: Andy is similar to a golden retriever—he loves belly rubs, he is always excited to see you, and he’ll always be there for you. He is ready and able to protect you when there is trouble.
3. He’s (kind of) smart: He really is smart…sometimes. He kind of (but not always) understands your standard subjects
like math,
science,
astronomy,
history,
technology,
geography,
spelling,
and grammar…
okay, maybe I overstated his intelligence on most of those, but he’s not completely helpless.
4. He (almost) always knows what to say: Andy speaks with his heart. Take away the goofy and the recklessness, and you have a whole lotta love. If any man talked to me the way Andy talks to April…swoon.
Although, sometimes he doesn’t quite hit the mark…
5. He’s learning to adult just like you: Adulting is hard. Andy may be older, but he's still learning to adult like the rest of us.
Some days he's 10...
He definitely has a lot of learning to do...
But, he comes around eventually!
...and then he's still a 10-year-old at heart.
6. He’s sensitive: Who doesn’t want a guy that’s sensitive? Andy is the biggest softy you’ll ever meet, but he probably won’t admit it right away.
7. He’s a nice guy: Andy is just a nice guy. There’s no way around the fact that he is probably one of the sweetest men you’ll ever meet.
. 
Now, there is only ONE Andy Dwyer, but there are lots of men with all these same qualities. I say the personality makes the man, so find one with a good personality.
