Why Did Harry And Lily Potter Have Different Color Eyes?

And so many people told him that he had his mother's eyes.

Why Did Harry And Lily Potter Have Different Color Eyes?

I know "Harry Potter" fans are all excited about JK Rowling's supposed sequel,"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," about Harry and his son, Albus. This story of a father and a son reminisces a story we all know and love, a son and his mother — a son who has his mother's eyes. This sequel also tells the story of Harry's son who, "[a]lone of Harry's three children, Albus had inherited Lily's eyes," ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows").

So I think this begs the question:

Why do Harry and his mom have different color eyes in the movie?

"Harry had a thin face, knobbly knees, black hair and bright green eyes," ("Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Store").

Fans moved past the fact that Daniel Radcliffe was allergic to colored contacts, and we settled with his blue eyes. That meant that his mother just had blue eyes too then, right?

Wrong! Above is Harry Potter with blue eyes and Lily Potter as a child, with brown eyes.

I know talking about eyes seems crazy but look at all of the hype surrounding Harry having his mother's eyes:

1. "Yeh look a lot like yer dad, but yeh've got yer mum's eyes." -Hagrid ("Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone")

2. "You have your mother's eyes." -Ollivander ("Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone")

3. "I expect you'll tire of hearing it, but you do look extraordinarily like James. Except for the eyes ... you have your mother's eyes." -Dumbledore ("Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban")

4. "And you've got her eyes..." -Slughorn ("Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince")

5. "Her son lives. He has her eyes, precisely her eyes. You remember the shape and colour of Lily Evans´s eyes, I am sure?" -Dumbledore ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows")

And of course the infamous:

So Snape, who was madly in love with Lily, with his DYING WORDS told Harry that he had his mother's eyes.

I'm just saying if every character in the "Harry Potter" series discussed Lily's eyes, and it was the one thing that made Harry have a piece of his mother left, could us fans not just have one thing that was ours? Was it impossible to not find a child actress with at least blue eyes?

Yes, this eye thing does bother me and will to this day. Even though "Harry Potter" fans like me will never be satisfied with Harry and his mother's eyes we all have one mutual feeling:

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
