Dancing has always been very important to me. When I put those ballet shoes on, it's like nothing else in the world matters, even if it's just for a little while. It's an escape like no other, and everyone who is a part of the dance world knows exactly what I'm talking about. Here are a couple of reasons why dancing will always hold a special place in my heart.

Dancing is an escape from reality.

I stopped dancing for a year and immediately realized it was the biggest mistake I could have made. There's something about the music and the rhythm that takes everything away. There is always a song, or a style of dance for that matter, that can help anyone get through anything. Remember "Footloose?" Sometimes, you just need to forget, and dancing is the perfect place for someone to forget everything that's going on.

Dance teachers are the best therapists.

This may sound crazy but, it's true. All the dance teachers I ever had —every one — could read me like a book. The type of dancing you know paints a picture for everyone else to see. It's the dance teachers job to help you find that emotion in yourself and get it across to the audience. They push you like you wouldn't believe. Coming home with sores and blisters never made sense to me until I could do really cool moves that I had been practicing for a really long time. Dance teachers aren't just for dance either. They want to be involved in everything. They want to know all about your success stories and your flaws. It's their job to help you tell that story though music and body movements and it's incredible what one person can do to help you show that.

Dancing reduces stress and anxiety.

This one may seem a little out there, but it's true. You don't have to be a professional dancer to enjoy dancing. Even swaying back in forth is dancing. Once you get attached to it, it becomes a lifestyle, and it's the perfect way to reduce all the stress and anxiety you have built up. Physical fitness reduces stress anyway, but when you're dancing and throwing you're emotions and creativity out on the floor, it's a completely different feeling. Dancing relaxes the mind and body in the best way possible. Dancing gives you an opportunity to get to know your body and yourself a little bit better, and, once you get the hang of that, it's really easy to express feelings through dancing.

Dance will always be there for you.

Dancing helps you to feel free. No matter if you are into ballet, tap, hip-hop, or any other type of dance, it will be there to help you feel better about yourself. It boosts self-esteem and confidence. Dancing is a great way to meet new people and they will become life-long friends. Having a passion for dance is one of the most incredible things that you can possess. Take it and run, because it will always be there for you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
