I am so happy to say that denim is back and here to stay. I'm not talking about stretch denim, jeggings, the "jeans" that you could do yoga in if asked. I'm talking about denim denim. Non-stretch, 100% cotton old-fashioned denim. Clothing stores are selling a surplus of mom jeans and boyfriend style jeans. These jeans take a vintage approach to styling by producing a stiffer, sometimes more baggy type of denim. I've decided to put together five reasons why I love 100% cotton rich denim.

Does not cling to you in the summer.

I wear jeans year-round, from 32 degrees in the winter to 92 degrees in the summer. Jeans are a staple for just about every outfit of mine. If you do not enjoy pinching your outer thigh to try and detach the denim from your sweaty leg, then buy a pair of true denim. A 100% cotton label screams breathable fabric!

Endurance.

Ladies, we live with it and deal with it on a regular, so let's be honest. Our thighs rub together! Ever had to throw away a pair of your favorite jeans because you wore out the inner thighs? Or maybe, as myself, you decided to stitch up that hole with a needle and thread you found in your linen closet. Well, forget having to worry about any of that because 100% cotton makes some damn good denim. Ever wonder how your grandma's Levi jeans are still sturdy and there is no beaded fabric by the crotch? It's because she's wearing a pair of REAL jeans. To avoid buying jeans every couple of years, I opt for paying an extra 10.00 for a pair of solid sturdy 100% cotton denim. Sometimes they can be out of my price range, but with a good eye and consistent check-ups, I can find a pair of vintage jeans at my local thrift store.

Natural fabric.

The benefits of cotton clothing are endless. Synthetic fabrics such as polyester and nylon contribute to limiting circulation and holding in moisture. This is why, in our jegging style jeans, our pants feel like they are sticking to our legs. Even when it comes to our underwear, polyester and microfiber type fabrics hold moisture which has the potential to lead to yeast infections. But no fear! Cotton is here!

Individualize your jeans by painting them, cutting them, anything DIY!

Old Levi's or any pair of 100% cotton denim are perfect for cutting into shorts because they won't stretch after they have been cut. For the perfect frayed ends, or hanging out pockets, go to your local thrift store and buy a pair!

Models. Models. Models.

Do you have a favorite model who's closet you want to raid and style you want to steal? I'm sure you do. I do. Sounds cliché, but Kendall Jenner has a casual closet that I'd love to borrow from, that is if I wore her size. When is the last time you've spotted your model idol in a pair of super stretch denim? Don't know? Well, I don't either because all I've seen them rocking is a classic pair of Levi vintage jeans and even designer jeans that are inspired by the vintage look.

A strong 100% cotton pair of jeans are the staple every girl needs in her closet.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
