I love to cook. Not only cook, but bake. Cooking is one of my favorite things to make the time pass by faster; it also helps me relieve stress. Between cooking and baking, my love for baking surpasses my love for American Horror Story. I love to bake because I love sweet foods, but I also love cooking because, well, it's good. And second of all, it's very easy once you get the hang of it.
Since I was young, I can remember the memories I had with my grandmother mashing the cooked potatoes, or unwrapping the Hershey's kisses and putting them on top of chocolate chip cookies during the holidays. It wasn't until my teenage years that my mother decided to teach how to actually cook, and I cannot thank her enough for doing that. She always told me, "You're not going to be clueless in the kitchen when you move out of the house." And thankfully, I am not.
If you think cooking is boring, then you'll have to excuse yourself from reading this. However, if you are aware that cooking can be not only informational, but entertaining; you have found the right page. It is very important to know the art of cooking first. Prepare your ingredients, turn on the stove, add a pat of butter or a cup of olive oil, and voila! You are all set to get cooking, good looking! Yes, it is informational because of the directions on the back of the box, but it can also be quite entertaining, because who doesn't like to be called good looking? It can help tremendously with stress. Cooking is a step by step process. As long as you either "follow the directions" on the back of the box, or just make up your own recipe, you should be fine.
The fun part about cooking is that you can pretty much do anything with it. You can eat as you go, listen to music, even clean. However, I'm the kind of person who likes to clean after I get everything settled. I cannot scatter things out. I can see why my mother would want to have things cleaned up as she goes to make it more suitable for her. But that's her. Not me. It is honestly better for me to cook a three course meal and worry about cleaning the kitchen later, because what if I get confused and accidentally pour the bleach in where my spaghetti noodles are boiling. I have never done that by the way, but I'm not saying it can't happen to some people.
Baking cakes are fun, but cheesecakes are more of my thing. That graham cracker crust. With cream cheese, and strawberries, blueberries, even chocolate! Chocolate. Just let that sink in. Chocolate. I could eat it everyday if it didn't cause me to feel sick. So I only eat it once every week.
See, cooking can be fun.
