Why I’m Completely And Utterly Obsessed With London

I never thought I could fall in love with a city as much as I’ve fallen in love with the city of London. I’ve only spent a total of 11 days there, but those 11 days have changed my life. I’ve found the city of my dreams in London, England.

The streets are filled with red double decker buses and lined with red phone booths. It looks like something out of a movie. I walk down the streets and I feel so content with my life. The streets are filled with people, but they still hold this aurora of peacefulness.

London is such a big city that you’re always able to continue exploring. I’ve been there twice and I still feel like I haven’t seen the whole city. Whether it’s shopping on Oxford Street, the hustle and bustle of Piccadilly Circus, or visiting the tourist sites of Big Ben or Buckingham Palace, London has so much to offer and has something for everyone.

So why am I completely and utterly obsessed with London?

1. The Tube

The London Underground is so impressive. I used it all the time when I was there as I way to get all around the city in minimal time. The traffic is insane and the Tube gives you a way to avoid it.

2. Oxford Street

Shopping in London is any fashionista’s dream. I love it because the city is filled with some of my favorite shops, like Topshop, H&M, Zara, Mango, and Primark. But besides all of my favorites, London has something for everyone.

3. The Tourist Sites

Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, The Tower Bridge, The London Eye—the city has so many incredible sites to see. I’ll never forget the first time I saw the beauty of Westminster Abbey, the church of the Royal Wedding, or the time I was able to see Big Ben from the London Eye.

4. Fish & Chips

Being a picky eater, I don’t like very many foods, but I know that in London I can always find something to eat. There’s a pub on almost every corner that serves fish & chips.

5. London Love

I’m in love with London. It’s an incredible city and one I hope to live in someday.

6. “A bad day in London is still better than a good day anywhere else.” – Unknown

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
