We all have that one friend that is there for you no matter what. They are supportive, helpful, and conveniently in the form of a liquid. You guessed it, coffee. Whoever invented coffee seriously deserves a medal and a really nice dinner. Here are some of the reasons why coffee is your real best friend in college.
1. It gets you through those Netflix all-nighters.
Netflix is a staple in a college student's life. It gives you an escape route from all your issues, mostly homework. What can I say, sometimes school can get really stressful and the only cure is a Netflix all-nighter. With the limited amount of time we have in the day for binge watching our favorite shows, nighttime has to be the solution. And who is there to keep you company on those long, movie-filled nights? You guessed it, your caffeinated best friend coffee is always there for you.
2. It gets you through actual all-nighters.
All-nighters are not a myth, they are real and they are a struggle. Some college nights are spent sitting in one corner of the library staring at your computer screen for hours on end blinking once every 10 minutes for your 8 am test. Luckily, Cabell is equipped with a Starbucks that is awake when you are, so you can grab one Venti 3-espresso-shot cappuccino to get you through the night, then another in the morning to get you through your classes, what a great friend. Plus, coffee makes studying automatically more exciting.
3. Coffee shops are amazing.
Studying in the library or in your room can get old. Luckily in Richmond there are an abundance of cute coffee shops that provide excellent places to study, new atmospheres always help me concentrate. The smell of caffeine in the air is great for focus, and the coffee bar is a foot a way from you any time you need a pick-me-up or some fuel in the form of pastries.
4. It never fails to look good in an Instagram picture.
Sometimes I think my coffee is prettier than I am, actually it's safe to say that it always is. Barista's are mad talented at latte art, creating a perfect opportunity for Instagram likes, showing off your super cute best friend. Some people may start to think coffee is your only friend.
5. Health benefits.
Have you ever had a best friend that is not only amazing but also good for your health? According to Medical News Today, coffee may help prevent type 2 diabetes, Parkinson's disease, liver disease, and can help reduce the chance of heart failure with moderate consumption. Drink up!
"But first, coffee."
