It's no secret that most people's favorite holiday is indeed Christmas, and honestly, can you blame them?

Christmas is the best season for a good amount of reasons if you ask me.

For starters, even as cliche as it may sound, it really is the most wonderful time of the year.

Everything around town is decorated. Houses, streets, stores, everything. Everywhere you go. Everything looks so much better when it's covered in Christmas lights. Also, there are so many different holiday events. Between the Christmas parades held within your town and the various Christmas tree lightings, there are plenty of cute events held that you can attend during the holiday season that will really contribute to putting you in the holiday mood.

Another wonderful benefit of the Christmas season is that Christmas music is always on the radio for the entire month. And what could be better honestly, Christmas music really is the best. You can't tell me when Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas is You comes on that you don't get excited and jam out. Also, it seems as if everyone is just in a much more cheery mood than normal (because, let's be honest, the rest of the year is just stressful). Everything about the season represents happiness and joy. Christmas brings out the good and generosity in everyone.

The holiday season is the perfect time to really get to spend time with your family. It really is a season that stands for selflessness and time spent with those you care about. It really isn't about what you receive, but about what you already have that you are able to cherish with your family. It's nice that everyone can be on a long break and are able to spend quality time together. Even if it's just sitting around the TV watching Christmas movies, it all amounts to something.

I also thoroughly enjoy Christmas shopping for my friends and family. Some may think it's stressful and chaotic, trying to get the right gifts and beating the crowds, but I truly do enjoy the experience. Finding the perfect gift for those you care about is something I look forward to every year (even if that might sound weird).

It's also a great excuse to bake delicious and festive desserts, whether alone or with someone. Every year, my mom and I always love to bake Christmas cookies shaped as different Christmas objects. Then we all decorate them as a family when they come out and give some out to our friends and family. It's something so simple yet it really is an activity that brings us all closer as a family and helps us bond after during the season.

Even when it's not the Christmas season, everyone looks forward to when it will be again. Everything just really does seem better during Christmas time. Christmas, just by default, makes everything better.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
