Some of the scariest things don't compare to how terrifying change can actually be. Change is one of those things that you can't always prepare for and can happen in an instant. The fear of change stems from the fear of the unknown. But nonetheless, change can propel you on a journey of self awareness and is good for your health. If you are in a situation that isn't good, change can bring better horizons. Change can lead to a boost of confidence or a negative event. They say that change is great for your health and mind, but can alter the course of your life. Changes can be as big as a lifestyle change or as little as changing your appearance in some way.

You hear about women coming out of an abusive relationship and going to get a hair cut or going out to buy a new outfit. Bringing something new into one's life has been shown to increase happiness or start the healing process. It is because it is associated with a fresh start. When one indulges in this too much it could lead it to becoming a crutch. Doing retail therapy in moderation can help lead the healing process, as it is common sense to think in that process. A.F.P.A says that exercising, writing in a journal, changing your diet, seeking therapy, getting more sleep, getting a hobby, unplugging from technology, volunteering and others are a good way to start having healthy changes in your life.

You hear about how getting into negative habits can change a person for the worse. When a good kid or adult tries a drug for the first time and gets addicted, the bad habit or change affects both the mind and body. When one gets into another bad relationship after the last one fell through, it shows that changing the person doesn't help the situation at all. Getting a bad haircut can alter the confidence level of the person and that leads to a depressive state. When a negative event occurs in life, it can also have a negative impact on your life as a huge. Bad events leads to depression and/or a "the blues" (temporary sadness). With those in mind, one can continue down the path of negativity and bad habits.

Change is a neutral event. Changes can either lead to a positive or negative outcome. Change in moderation leads to an increase of health and happiness. Exercising and changing your physical features can lead to happiness, but it has been seen to decrease happiness. Addiction is not fun. It is a mind numbing whirlwind. Negative changes such as addiction can lead to bad habits and a trip down a lonely road through life. In life, we go through changes both good and bad. It is how we use change that can effect us in the long run.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
