Life is unpredictable and full of challenges. Some people meet them with confidence, while others struggle to overcome them. Mostly, challenges are just inconvenient obstacles in our lives that get in the way of things that we wish to do. At least, that’s what they seem like. What if we changed our perspective on how we view life’s difficulties and trials? What if we considered the very challenges that we face every day to be blessings?
I know, I’m crazy. I mean how can something that is adding a problem or unplanned complication in to your life be considered a blessing? The reason I say this is because we are focused on the wrong thing when it comes to challenges. People are so fixated on results that it’s hard to appreciate the detours caused by them. Instead, we should focus on the fact that the daily tests and problems we face can be highly beneficial experiences, teaching us not only about life but also about ourselves.
When we learn to view challenges in this new light, they can become some of our most valuable life experiences and lessons. Learning from our challenges can create many positive things in a person’s life, which is exactly why they should be considered blessings in disguise. First, we must understand that they can strengthen us. A lot of the time, we feel intimidated by challenges because we think that we are incapable of getting past them. We tend to doubt ourselves and our abilities frequently, so if we view a challenge as an opportunity to become stronger and more capable, then everything will change. If we continue doing this, it will cause us to view life’s problems as opportunities to become a better overall person. Second, challenges can be used for your own advantage and are also a way to help others. Often, we see our difficult encounters as disadvantages, but this is not always true. When we start searching for a different strategy to accomplish our goal, the challenge may prove to be a blessing if it helps us discover a flawed strategy that can be improved. Most of the time we believe that our goals only affect us personally, but this is rarely the case. Other people often model their own behavior after yours, and if you refuse to let challenges break you or slow you down, then you inspire others to think the same way when facing challenges of their own.
Challenges hold the key for unlimited opportunities. Yes, they are frustrating, exhausting, and most of the time are hard to deal with. But, we create our own attitudes and perceptions, and they do not have to be dictated by our circumstances. We just have to be willing to see that the tough complications we face can actually produce many benefits in our lives and the lives of others. Everything will transform once we start to change our perception of problems, and I challenge everyone to look for a blessing in every single one of them.
