9 Reasons Your Cat Is Your Everything

Ask anyone, "Are you a cat or dog person?" and nine times out of 10 they'll say "dog." I'm sorry to all the dog people out there, but you're not giving cats enough credit. I have a giant 22-pound cat who is the snuggliest (not a word, but it is now) ball of fur I've ever held. People always say, "Ew cats are so mean they just hide and hiss at you and scratch you and don't do anything" but that's so untrue!! How can you see any malice in this cutie?

I see why dogs are considered "cute" and "lovable" but personally they don't appeal to me. I don't want their slobbery tongue all over my face and I definitely do not want to go out during the cold Boston winter and walk the damn thing at five in the morning so it can pee. Also, although nobody that owns a dog will admit it, they smell. I will look at pictures and agree your dog is cute, but if I see that thing in person I may not be so affectionate. This is my fat cat, love him or hate him.

Let me tell you all about the wonderful things cats do.

1. They cuddle up next to you in bed at night and purr while you pet them.

2. They rub up against you while you're cooking in the kitchen because they want a little human food because they love ya so much.

3. They will sit next to you and watch you're favorite TV shows.

4. You can pick them up whenever you please and they will bring you utter happiness and release stress.

5. They will let you cry into their big, fat, furry tummies when you're sad.

6. They clean themselves and go to the bathroom when they please so they're not a burden.

7. Did I mention how snuggly they are?

8. They let you dress them up and play with them.

9. Cats are awesome! Bye haters!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
