I know that it’s summer and campus organizations are probably the last thing on your mind, but let me tell you about a BGSU campus org that should definitely be on your radar this summer: BGSU Campus Cursive.

Campus Cursive is a college-level branch of an organization called More Love Letters, which is a non-profit started by Hannah Brencher that sends handwritten love letters of encouragement and support to hurting souls across the world. More Love Letters take nominations for letter bundles, finding the stories of people nominated by those who love them and posting them on their website with a blurb about the person and the address to send letters to. Anyone with access to the website can then write letters to this person and mail them to the given address in order to be a part of the bundle. Nominees receive hundreds of letters from strangers all over the world who are telling them that they matter and that their story has been told. From this movement emerged the Campus Cursive initiative. Now, colleges and universities have micro-versions of More Love Letters that take love letter requests and spread positivity on their campuses.

At BGSU, Campus Cursive is a new group. It started in the spring of 2016 and it has been gaining ground on campus. Although the first meeting had low attendance, the group picked up speed and started having about 10 regular members at every meeting. Campus Cursive takes letter requests and sends bundles to people both on and off campus. At the end of spring semester, it held its first large event. A letter writing station was set up on the campus oval lawn, with good vibes and good music to spare. Although they are a very young organization at BG, Campus Cursive plans to kick things up a notch next semester. With a fresh officer board, a spot in Fall Welcome festivities, and plans to expand their reach, Campus Cursive is sure to become big in the coming years.

If you’re looking to get involved with Campus Cursive at BG or More Love Letters in general, it’s a very easy process. First, you’ll need to know how to write a love letter, but don't worry, you don’t have to be Romeo or Juliet to do this. A love letter is just any handwritten letter that expresses positive thoughts and well-wishing. A letter to your neighbor thanking them for taking out your trash is a love letter. A letter to a stranger that you leave in a library book is a love letter. A letter to your significant other is still a love letter, too. Love comes in all forms and that’s what MLL and Campus Cursive are all about. The mission is to “make love famous” and spread happiness to other human beings.

If this sounds like a group that you want to be involved in, be sure to look out for it on campus in the fall. In the meantime, you can get involved through social media and don’t forget that being a member of Campus Cursive doesn’t mean that you have to have perfect cursive!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
