Camping isn't for everyone, since not everyone likes the outdoors, but there are a ton of reasons why you should go camping for your next escape from reality.
1. Quiet
Usually, the reason for a vacation of any kind is to escape the noise of our day-to-day lives. When you're out camping, it's very quiet and peaceful. You couldn't ask for anything better than some peace and quiet on your days away.
2. Relaxed
When you're out camping, there are no deadlines. Nothing you have to do, nothing you need to do. There is nothing that needs your attention, and certainly no one that needs you to help them figure something out at work. At a campground, the only things you have to do are relax and have fun with whoever you went with.
3. Laughter
When I went camping, we played a lot of games. From Encore to Clue to Catchphrase, and a ton of other games that I had never even heard of. But when we all got lost in those game and just enjoyed each other's company and the laughter, it turned into an extremely enjoyable experience.
4. Tenting
Sleeping in a tent isn't always the desired way to go camping anymore. Most people have a camper at this point--and don't get me wrong, those are nice, too--but sleeping in a tent every night is the way to go for me. Listening to the sounds of nature, the wind hitting the tent, the rain, it's just all so calming, and it doesn't get any better than that.
5. The Food
There are no fancy $100 meals while you're camping--you cook almost every meal over the fire! Whether it's burgers and dogs or steak, you can cook virtually anything over the campfire--but don't forget the s'mores!
6. Brings Us All Together
The greatest part about camping is that it's an everybody kind of vacation. Whether you're in elementary school, high school, or you're a full grown adult, camping always has something to offer. By far one of the greatest things about camping is that it bridges the divide among generations.
No matter what you love about camping, you're always going to discover something new the next time you head out to the campground.
