Why Big Brothers Are Secretly The Best For Little Sisters

I may not have the big sister I always wanted, but I was blessed with two big brothers instead, and I would never change that.

The Built-in Best Friend

What's better than having a built-in best friend? A little sister will always have her go-to person to make fun memories with, even when all her girl friends are busy.

Their Opinions Are The Most Honest And Valued Ones

Brothers will give their opinions even when they weren't asked, and will always find a way to but into their little sisters business. But when they say how pretty their sister looks, or how proud of them they are, they really are telling the truth.

The Personal Bodyguard

Brothers will have their sister's back through anything. And no matter how old their little sister gets, they never stop trying to protect them from the real world. But at a certain age, maybe it's time to lay off scaring all the boys away.

They Are Disgusting, But It's Surprisingly Helpful

Sharing a bathroom with at least one of my brothers for 19 years has been a challenge, but I built a tolerance to all the disgusting habits that boys have, which has taught me how to deal with nastier things in life then just cleaning up after them. Turns out brothers are useful for something.

They Treat Their Sister Like "One Of The Boys"

While little sisters may not always be welcome to tag along with the boys, big brothers will always see her as one. Although, they do usually remember she's still a girl when they're talking about their trucks (or something boring like that).

So, I may not have been given a big sister to help me with makeup or how to dress, but I had something better. I was given two big brothers who occasionally forget I'm not a kid anymore and that I'm sadly not a little brother instead. Thanks for being my best friends.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
