Sometimes it is easy to dismiss your very honest and loving friend as overly harsh. Maybe we do have a tendency to hurt feelings sometimes, but it's all for the greater good! And I promise it's just because we care so much and want the absolute best friend for you. Maybe our approach isn't the smoothest, but the bitchy friend will always, always have your back.
1. You don't have to pretend.
Your friends don’t expect you to tell them they look skinny in their new jeans just to make them feel better. Blair was never subtle with Serena and look how successful their friendship was!
2. No one, and I mean absolutely no one, plays games with you.
Just ask Georgina Sparks.
3. Your best friends always have someone to go to bat for them. Ride or die till the end.
Blair and Serena pretty much sum that up for us.
4. You do not have to sit through horribly long sob stories.
People do not expect you to nod in pity with puppy dog eyes and only respond with phrases like, "Oh my god that is so not your fault." Or, "Wow, I am so sorry you didn't even do anything to deserve." The bitchy friend gives it to you straight, and that's how you should take it.
5. You never have to ask someone, "Please, please do not tell anyone I said that."
A huge perk of being painfully honest in all situations is that you don't have to backtrack. As long as you're always telling it how it is, there is no concern that your stories will ever get mixed up. Even though Blair gets mixed up in some pretty elaborate schemes, her brutal honesty typically shines through in some form or fashion.
6. When you give your love or time and energy, people know it's genuine.
If you are going to be frighteningly truthful about how much you hate someone why wouldn't you be just as open about how much you love someone?
7. You find it easier to be honest with yourself.
We all know how hard it can be to admit our true feelings even to ourselves, sometimes, I know people who have made the worst choices and decisions because they simply couldn't be honest with themselves. Even though it is hard, the bitchy friend has the upper hand. We are so honest with everyone else, so even though it hurts sometimes, we are always honest with ourselves!
8. At social gatherings, you can literally say whatever you feel, but people still laugh it off as "your sarcastic sense of humor."
LOL.
9. You stay grounded.
The immense honesty and often harsh truths of life you choose to embrace keep your feet on the ground. Your ability to to see what is right in front of you allows you to avoid the pain that comes with blissful ignorance.
10. It's really just fun.
Why, why, why would you not want to be the bitchy friend? I mean, really never dealing with unnecessary drama, always being yourself, living life how you want to live, and doing it all with blunt grace. Maybe I am just a little partial, but I think Queen B reigns for a reason. XOXO
