As much as I write about my hardships, I am endlessly grateful for the length of support and love I have. If it were not for my support system, I would be nowhere. If it were not for my family's forgiving nature and love, I would be nowhere. If it were not for the teachers and mentors I was granted, I would be nowhere. I would be absolutely nowhere if I were here alone.
In my 18 years, I have been given opportunities most people don't. I will forever extend my gratitude to each and every person that allowed my happiness and passions to be possible. Every year I always see on Facebook posts showing how thankful my peers are, and I usually do the same. But this year, I actually took the time to read them. College has really taught me in these last four months that life is not about what you have, but who you are and what you do to help others with what you are given. I have realized that life is not all about possessions and that they really don't matter all that much.
It is important to really spend time with the people that love you most, they may not always be physically here. Please take the time every day, not just Thanksgiving, to appreciate your friends, families, and supporters. We are so lucky to have people that love us.
A quote that I find very fitting, "If you are really thankful, what do you do? You share." by W. Clement Stone. There is no better time than now and days to come to give back to people that helped you, as well as others that may just need help.
Give, give, give. Give your love. Give your support. Give kindness. Give advice. Give care. Give what you can to anyone it may help.
I will never be able to express how thankful I am for the people I have and the world I live in. Thank YOU.
