Why We Shouldn't Be Worried About Who The President Is

Whether you're a Christian or not, you're probably asking yourself this: Is there a possibility of peace or reconciliation in this fractured world?

The answer is yes. Even with Donald Trump as president of the GREAT United States of America.

Here's why: (and it's without taking a side of a political party)

No political party is perfect. That's right. Neither Democrats or Republicans or any Third Party has all of it right. In addition, neither party equals Christianity. There is no "Jesus" Party. Both sides lean away from biblical principles, adopting more worldly principles in their platforms. This may leave some Christians scratching their heads... then what are we as Christians called to do or support?

We are called to follow Jesus first.

If you follow Jesus first, there is no reason to stress or be upset about this election. The worldview of this election is hounding you with artificial emotion, saying that you should be scared, that you and your family have now been placed in danger, that Donald Trump will personally seek you out and kick you out of the country. Do not believe this darkness. This fear is not of the Lord, it is the devil devouring an opportunity to wreck a country that is "One nation under God." This division has been created by an evil we cannot see, it was not created by Republicans, and it was not created by Democrats. It is a darkness we cannot see, and we are fighting an enemy that is not human. That's why this fracture is running so deep.

In this time of uncertainty, we must turn to truth, not the media.

Romans 13:1 says this:

Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

Therefore, if we're rebelling against the government in a manner of hatred, we're rebelling against God. It shows a lack of trust.

The Lord has placed Donald Trump into power for reasons we possibly may never be able to see or understand. If Hillary Clinton had been elected, these words would still ring true. The president is the authority that has been placed in power by the Almighty Lord. We must trust the Lord, knowing that He has a plan to heal this fractured nation with Donald Trump as president.

If you're upset over this election, as many are, I encourage you to pray and inquire about what the Bible says about the situation. Only the Lord will give you the peace you're looking for. Only the Lord will show you the love that this nation is capable of. No divide is too big, evidence being not even sin could separate us from Jesus. He calls us to be one, let us unite and trust that our Lord will bless this great nation as He has infinite times.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
