Who Is God?

Who is God?

God

is

love.

When I say that in its truest and purest form it is sufficient to understand what we should know about Him.

But I know that will not be enough for the world.

That's another thing though

God is enough.

He is sufficient.

He satisfies.

You need only let Him in.

Not to say life with Him is easy

Probably the opposite

But it is beautiful, powerful

Heaven to Earth

& He is pursuing you

More desperately and passionately than you ever have pursued or been pursued yourself.

Adoration is insufficient to describe the burning passion of affection He holds for you that pours over like waves overwhelming your soul and also just as gently as a whisper.

He's known you,

always,

before even the womb.

You can only cry.

In his image we can experience His emotion yet are still inadequate to understand the entirety of who He is.

We are inadequate.

We have failed Him over and over religiously. It is burnt in our bones the way this world is failing. And despite all the good we can't deny the ever present feeling that not everything is alright here.

It was never supposed to be like this.

How must a perfect God feel to see His intricately designed, purposeful and beautiful creation

in turmoil.

To see something you made and so adore fail so miserably,

Regret.

Exponentiated into the bounds of a limitless being.

Damn.

Is all you get out before your soul begins to ache.

But

Despite everything

There is still hope

A hope He provided to save what He so loved.

A son.

A baby.

But really part of God. Beautiful, powerful, dangerous. A being so expansive He has every right to have an ego bigger than anyone's you have ever known. A creator of the universe. Perfection.

Humbled to the helplessness of an infant's limp body.

A carpenter.

Kind, not passive.

Advocate of love.

Miracle worker.

Salt & light.

Friend of the least of us.

Tempted by the world.

Plotted against

Mocked

Murdered naked on a splintered cross with a crown of thorns digging into His scalp, rusted nails driving holes through His hands and feet.

Hanging there on display

Limp.

The lamb slain.

The sacrifice.

It is a vision of torture,

Endured by perfection.

Why could this happen?

For us.

For you.

Humiliation and destruction of innocence in its perfect entirety is what it took to save your life.

There is passion in what was done for you.

Yet people still turn away,

But he will always call after them.

His lost sheep

& this savior

This all knowing, all powerful, amazing, incredible, risen from the dead

savior.

A being with theoretically all the knowledge there is to have.

Left a legacy

A foundation.

At the very least, a set of instruction

Hope

Faith

Joy

Purity

Wisdom

Patience

Stillness

Kindness

Confidence

Do not judge

Do not worry

Do not be anxious

Do not be afraid

Perseverance

Forgiveness

Advocate

Charity

Rest

Peace

Passion

Humility

Hard work

Encouragement

Environmentalism

To carry your cross

To love your neighbor

To love your enemy

To love yourself

To love him

To love

Love

The greatest of these is love.

He will not abandon you. He is here, always. Inside you if you will so let Him be.

He wants you, He's pursuing you.

You need only let Him in.

Love.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
