10 Things I want my husband to be

Ever since I was young, my mother told me to keep a list of who I want my future husband to be. She obviously meant the kind of person I wanted him to be, but I just wrote, 'tall, dark, and handsome'. (My standards were pretty low back then) Anyways, now that I'm older I rewrote my list. I took the time to discern who I could see myself with and the expectations I have for my future spouse. I decided to not include physical attributes but instead, focus on how they are on the inside.

1. Honest

I expect him to be someone who says what he means and does what he says.

2. Patient

A patient man is willing to wait for good things. He puts value in me and through that, respects my boundaries and requests.

3. Gentle

I know this might seem strange to put because women stereotypically like masculine tough men. However, a gentleman balances his strength with grace. He is someone who cares and listens to me. He doesn't lash out in anger or invalidates my emotions.

4. Courageous

I want someone who can stand for things even when its difficult, embarrassing, or unpopular. A courageous man also confesses their wrongs to others and tries their best to better themselves.

5. Faithful

Pretty self-explanatory but I want someone who can live authentically around others, and someone who also walks with God.

6. Hardworking

I want someone who is diligent and can be counted on to provide. I value hard work a lot and believe that in order to succeed in life you have to go through mountains and valleys.

7. Submissive to Authority

This is someone who can admits thier faults and yield to wisdom and change.

8. Selfless

He thinks of others before himself and is called to love me selflessly and sacrifically. He isn't afraid to give up his happiness for mine.

9. Kind

To be kind is to be a Godly man. Godly masculinity is considerate to me and others.

10. Committed to Christ

Someone who is being prayerful, living in community, and being committed to a body of believers.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
