It is time for change, time for people to start understanding that the the black lives matter movement is not about devaluing anyone else. It is about creating equality for the race that has been alienated for way too long. The race that has been always drawing the short stick and been treated unfairly. Regardless of whether they treated unfairly by police or just other people apart of society, it is more than wrong.
What is #Blacklivesmatter?
Black lives matters is a movement about creating equality for everyone, regardless of their race. It is for everyone. It has started to appear as violent movement. That is not what the intentions of black lives matters is. It is not about killing cops or fighting with white people. There will always be extremists in every group and even if they declare themselves a part of the #blacklivesmatter movement, that does not make the movement violent as a whole. It means that there is a little bit of evil everywhere. There are bad cops, there are bad white people and there are bad black people. Just because one person in a group has bad intentions, does not make everyone bad.
You know there is problem when a race as a whole feels they are unequal.
People will always say they are being treat poorly or unfair on the basis of gender, sexuality and race. But in this case it is not whining and accusations from a few people. It is from an entire race. Although maybe some members of the race may not agree. The general consensus is that they overall feel unequal. Why is that not enough to take a stand? Why do you not want everyone to feel equal? There are over 7 billion people that walk the earth. Seven billion people that God decided needed to be here, yet there is still an issue of racism. It is 2016 and if you can honestly say that you hate black people - there is something wrong with you. A RACE is not a person. The color of your skin does not define who you are, your actions do.
Saying you support #blacklivesmatter does not mean you are against #alllivesmatter.
It means that you understand this is not your time. It is not about everyone else right now. At some point it will be again, but right now it is about the black lives. You can support black lives in the the hope that one day all lives will matter as a whole. By supporting black lives matter, you are looking towards a greater good, where everyone feels equal and no group as a whole will feel they need to have a movement to make their lives equal to rest the world. Peace can be found within everyone and the world will become a safer place.
It does not matter how you were raised to think; you have the power to change your own thoughts.
Stop using the excuse, “My parents taught me to think this way.” Your parents probably also did not want you to sneak out of the house, drink underage or lie to them. In your lifetime, you have done many things that your parents have taught you not to do. Why should this be any different? If you are willing to change, you may even be able to change your parents or your friends. It starts with you. Stop using excuses and allowing other people to create your opinions; do what you know is right.
Race does not matter.
Morgan Freeman, Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, Jennifer Hudson, Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg and many more black actors and actresses are known to be some of the world's best actresses and T.V. stars. Some of the best movies of all times, they have all star’d in. Yet, they are watching their race all be degraded. They get hate comments. They are treated poorly by the public. They keep going. They keep entertaining everyone. They are amazing actors; the color of their skin does not matter. It should never have mattered and it should stop mattering to people now.
