While I Wait For You: A Letter To My Future Husband

Dear future husband/lover/best friend/father of my children,

First of all, I can't wait to meet you. Or, if I have already met you, I can't wait to know your place in my life. I am so excited for our future together. I think of it very often. I think of how fun marriage is going to be and how adorable our kids will be. As for now, I am waiting for you. I know that our Father's timing is perfect and I do not want to awaken love before its time. During this time, I will better myself for your good, and I will pray for you endlessly.

While I wait for you, I am praying and trusting God to prepare my heart for you. I am learning to put God before everything else and rely on Him. I will put my hope, joy, and security in Him alone. I am learning to trust Him when my days are filled with worries. None of this will change when we get married. I will love Jesus first, then you. Jesus is the reason I am here, and I love Him more than anything. I want to live my life for His glory and I want my life to be full of His love, both from Him and radiating from me. I long for my Savior's heart. I hope you do, too.

While I wait for you, I will learn to cook and clean well. I want to do this because I want to serve you for the rest of our lives. I hope you learn to serve me as well. I will learn to communicate well, not just by social media or technology. Communication is very important in a relationship. I will learn to be honest even when it is hard because I want you to always be honest with me. I will learn true trust, so that I do not have to be afraid to trust you.

While I wait for you, I will pray for you. I'm praying that you are a Christian. If not, I pray that you will become one. I pray that God will prepare your heart to hear and respond to God's call. I pray that you will love God with a deep, unswerving love. I pray that you will trust Him always, because His plan for your life is greater than anything you could ever think of. I pray that above all else, you will seek our heavenly Father with all of your heart, and that you will find him everywhere you look. I pray that when times are tough and when times are good, that you will praise Him, and put your faith and trust in Him. I pray that God will teach you to pursue my heart and love me even when I am a brat. I pray that you will learn patience, because you have me for better or for worse. I wish you good luck on my worst days. I pray that you stay humble and have a servant's heart. I pray that you will never stop growing in your relationship with Jesus.

While I wait for you, I will pray for our marriage. I'm praying that first and foremost our marriage will glorify God. I pray that we will trust Him in all circumstances and follow His calling. I pray that if it is God's will to bless us with children that we will be Godly parents.

I don't know what our life together will look like, but I am so excited about it. I can't wait to watch endless hours of Netflix with you, eat with you everyday, be your best friend, and most of all love you forever.

I love you so,

Your future wife

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

The best superpower ever? Being invisible of course. Imagine just being able to go from seen to unseen on a dime. Who wouldn't want to have the opportunity to be invisible? Superman and Batman have nothing on being invisible with their superhero abilities. Here are some things that you could do while being invisible, because being invisible can benefit your social life too.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
