With the newest MARVEL film coming out this Friday, I always hear the debate about which Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film is the best. With the upcoming release of "Captain America: Civil War" I thought this would be an appropriate time to unveil my rankings. So without further ado here is my rankings of the top MCU films.
1. "Iron Man"
This film started it all. Without this film we wouldn't have the great films we have today so I think it deserves the number one spot.
2. "The Avengers"
There are very few movies you can watch over and over again and continue to enjoy as much as this one.
3. "Guardians of the Galaxy"
This film surpassed everyone's expectations and is one of MARVEL's most enjoyable films to date.
4. "Captain America: The Winter Soldier"
This is the one MARVEL film where it didn't have a comic book feel. Because it's more different than the other MARVEL films, I rank it at #4. It's like Jason Bourne and MARVEL film combined into one.
5. "Ant-Man"
This film was better than expected and is one of the funniest films of the MCU. Can’t wait to see more of him in Civil War!
6. "Iron Man 3"
The perfect way to end the Iron Man trilogy. Even though we still see Iron Man in the Avengers, we won’t be seeing any more solo films from Robert Downey Jr.
7. "Captain America: The First Avenger"
This film separates itself from the other phase one films due to its setting (World War II) and Tommy Lee Jones's most bad ass role since Men in Black. It also has a catchy tune when Captain America goes on tour around the country. Chris Evan’s definitely redeemed himself with this super hero (better than the Human Torch).
8. "Thor"
Besides Loki what else makes the Thor movies so great? It has its typical MARVEL fun but can definetly see fans getting lost in the mythology side of it.
9. "Avengers: Age of Ultron"
This film is ranked so low because it was very flawed and didn't live up to its predecessor that broke box office records.
10. "Iron Man 2"
This wasn't as good as the first film and the villain seemed to be a lazy casting choice. Although Iron Man 3 redeemed this trilogy, we can definitely view this film as the worst of them all.
11. "The Incredible Hulk"
Edward Norton brings a new freshness to the Hulk character and for 2008 this film had great visual effects. It isn’t as popular as the rest of the MCU films due to acting changes in the Avengers but this is the best Hulk movie ever made so far.
12. "Thor: The Dark World"
Again what is the Thor franchise without Loki but this film had the biggest cliffhanger in the MCU and fans are gonna have to wait until next year to find out who is ruling Asgard.
So those are my MCU film rankings. Comment below with your thoughts!
