Remember when you would wake up on Christmas morning and look outside, the snow covering the trees and grass, making everything much more magical than you could ever imagine? Yeah, me either.

I honestly cannot remember the last time we had a white Christmas, or Christmas Even in Pennsylvania. It always snows after the holiday, and honestly it just does not feel like Christmas anymore. I was hoping this year there would be a chance of a little bit of snow, but this past weekend it was 62 degrees. That is right, 62 degrees. That is not snow weather whatsoever, and I want an explanation.

Of course snow still exists, as people who live in New York and other states that get hit hard every year. But we have not had as severe snowstorms on the East Coast as we used to. However, these extreme snow storms are the result of climate change, and warmer weather, and could be more common as the world heats up. As this could be a good thing for those of us who want snow, but at the same time it means our world is becoming hotter and hotter, which is not that good.

Yes it is 2018 and most of us are aware of climate change and global warming, but some people out there refuse to believe that is an actual problem. Yet the weather is literally physical proof that our earth is heating up, and mostly due to the damage the human species is doing to the environment.

But it is time to wake up. We have to be more aware of what is happening to our planet, and how we can fix it. The more we pollute, the worse it is getting. I recently took an ethics class in college, and it really opened my eyes about how we treat our environment.

So you may say, what do we do about this? Well it is simple, we need to educate ourselves and others about our earth. We have proof of climate change and global warming, so we need to take that a step further and teach others about it. When you break down the problems of why there is such a thing as global warming and climate change, it all stems back to humans. From greenhouse gases to ocean acidification, we are the reason why our earth is deteriorating.

We need people to believe that this is happening, because it really is. We need to look at different ways to live our lives, from simply recycling, or carpooling, or even riding a bike instead of a method of transportation that causes pollution. It is the simple things we can change in our daily routines that could make a difference.

So how does this relate to my longing for snow? Well I long for a bit of snow, but I also long for a world where I know my future children and grandchildren will see a little bit of snow. Not extreme storms or 62 degree Decembers. A nice in between would be ideal, but if we keep up with our damaging habits, who knows what will become of our planet.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
