Without muse or motivation

I write

I write with my pen

I write to channel my wit

I write to summon my muse

I write to awaken my motivation

Yet sadly

I remain

Unmoved

Do I write for naught

If I cannot combine

My pen

With my muse

Or my wit

With my motivation

Am I to believe

That I write in vain

In vain

And with disdain

I continue

To write

I beg my muse

I wrestle with my wit

I plead my motivation

Let me create something beautiful

Guide my pen

Create my words

Let an image blossom

An image of beauty

An image filled with emotion

Come forth

From within my bones

It is close

All I need to do

Is reach out

And ensnare it

Where

Have you been

Sweet muse

I grip my pen

Ignite my wit

Welcome my motivation

And surrender to my muse

At last

Our time

Has come
