Why My Boyfriend Is My Best Friend
Carli Combs

I have had many friends and best friends throughout my life. They have all been amazing and helped me get through tough times, which I'm so thankful for. Although I love all my girl friends and best friends, no one is like my boyfriend. I have been with my boyfriend for three years now. Each and every year I have been with him, we have become closer and closer, and I couldn't be more happy about that.

He knows so much about me

He probably knows more about me than anyone else, and there is nothing wrong with that. I love that he is the one to know pretty much everything about me. It makes our relationship that much better knowing so much about each other.

I have told him my deepest secrets

When I say my deepest secrets, I seriously mean my deepest secrets. Not many people know all my secrets, but my boyfriend definitely knows them all. The best part about it is that he doesn't judge me for any of it. Anything I have ever done in my past, or anything I have ever gone through, whether it is terrible or embarrassing, he understands and is there for me. He may laugh at the embarrassing secrets, but it's okay because I can laugh at them too.

He knows my pet peeves, and what makes me happy

I have quite a few pet peeves. Since we have been dating, he has definitely figured them all out. Some may or may not be things he does, but overall, he understands them all. He laughs at me sometimes for the things that annoy me, because they can be pretty ridiculous, but I can't help it. Along with my pet peeves, he knows what makes me happy. He knows some of my favorite things. My boyfriend does so many things that make me super happy. He knows exactly what to do when I have had a bad day, and knows what to say to cheer me up.

We like the same shows

My boyfriend and I love the same shows. We can quote so much from the shows we like. My favorite thing about this is that we text each other quotes and pictures from our shows, and it absolutely makes my day when this happens. We know what episodes are each other's favorites, and they are always our go-to episodes on Netflix when either of us have a bad day or just need a good laugh.

We listen to the same kind of music

There are a few differences here and there in our taste in music, but for the most part we like the same kind. We definitely know each other's favorites, and know what songs to add to the car playlist. We love to sing at the top of our lungs and look and act so stupid in the car. I'm sure people look at us like we are so crazy! Even though we may get the words wrong sometimes and make fun of each other for it, music is definitely something that brings us together and makes us laugh.

I go to him for everything

I mean absolutely everything! He is the one I tell my drama to, and the one I vent to. I tell him some of the grossest things, and some of the funniest/embarrassing things. I get so excited to tell him about my day, and what exciting things happened. I look to him for advice and for comforting. Honestly, out of everyone, he is the one who knows me the best, and he can comfort me better than anyone. He knows exactly what to say to make me feel better, and I am so thankful for that.

He loves me no matter what

After everything I have been through and continue to go through in life, he still loves me no matter what. He loves me no matter how frustrated I get, whether it's toward him or not. He loves me no matter how much I cry when something upsets me, or how ugly I look while crying. He loves me no matter what we go through as a couple, and he always shows me how much he loves me.

I could really go on and on. I am so glad my boyfriend is my best friend. It makes our relationship so amazing because he knows everything about me in every way. He is my biggest supporter, and he is always there for me. I truly don't know what I would do without him. I am so lucky to have met him, and so blessed to have him as not only my boyfriend, but my absolute best friend! Thank you for always being there for me, for supporting me through everything, for understanding me when no one else does, and for loving me no matter what. I love you so much!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
