First of all, I would just like to state that this article is not about food. This is for all of you who have too much going on in your life right now, whether it be school, work or even family troubles. If you are feeling completely overwhelmed right now at this moment in your life and you don't know what to do, this is for you.
If you woke up today feeling completely overwhelmed at how much you had to do today and you didn't feel like doing any of it, I promise you that you are not alone. Every single person on this earth today has their own different kinds of problems and, to them, their problems are a big deal too. As a college student, I often find myself looking at my planner and wondering how I could possibly accomplish every single thing that I need to accomplish that day or even that week. It stresses me out knowing that in order to complete my schedule, I have to stay up until late hours of the night and then I get more stressed out from not always getting enough sleep. Needless to say, stress comes pretty naturally to us as humans. It is easy to just lay in bed and try your best not to think about anything, but that is not always an option.
How can we get through our day without worrying about the next hour or day?
"When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I." -Psalm 61:2
The answer? Praying to Jesus, the one who already knows what you have to do for the day before you even think to write it down in your planner. Pray that God will give you his peace throughout the day. When you wake up in the morning, cry out to the one who loved you enough to die for you. It is impossible to do this life on your own. Life will knock you down every time if you are living it alone. Also, it helps to find a faithful loving friend that you can lean on when times are hard and hold each other accountable when you stray away from God.
Whoever you are and whatever you are stressing about, God already knows and he is waiting for you to talk to him.
