When Your Mom Is Your Best Friend

Mom/Best Friend, same right?

5
When Your Mom Is Your Best Friend
Kaitlyn Craig

1. You go everywhere together

Whether it be the grocery store because you don't want to be home alone or the doctors when you're almost twenty...you go with her or you want her to go with you everywhere.

2. You ask her opinion on everything

Her opinion matters the most. Whether it be on life choices, what to eat for lunch, what job to get, or what you should wear that day, you go to Mom first. Moms know best!

3. It feels weird if you don't talk to her all day

Going a day where you don't talk a lot to her seems weird. if you don't talk to her much that day, you go straight home and talk about every little detail of your days to catch up.

4. You think, say, and eat the same

I don't know if it's just my mom and I but, my mom and I say the same things at the same time ALL THE TIME. Like no joke, multiple times a day. We are basically the same person. Whenever we go out to get something we end up getting the same thing. EVERYWHERE. You can definitely tell that we are related! It could just be my mom and I but seriously...it's kind of ridiculous!

5. You are comfortable around her

You can talk about anything, say what you really want to say, and be yourself around her. There is no judgement. It's the best feeling ever.

7. You have the greatest relationship ever

Your relationship is not like anyone else's. It is indescribable. You wouldn't change your relationship for the world! You are more than mother and daughter. Your relationship is at the next level.

I love you Mommy!! Thanks for not only being the best mom but my best friend!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
