When You Give A Girl A Twin

I feel blessed to have been born into a family where I have an older sister and a little brother. When you are younger your little sibling is your worst enemy, and when you are older they become your best friend. However, one of the greatest relationships I will ever have is with my twin sister. While they may annoy you like every other sibling, there are a multitude of positives that occur when you give a girl a twin.

1. You Are Born With A Cuddle Buddy

When you give a girl a twin, you give her a cuddle buddy. My mom always tells us if we started crying while we were in the hospital, all the doctors had to do was place us right next to each other and we would stop.

2. You Wear Matching Outfits

When you give a girl a twin, you give her someone to wear matching outfits with. The best part of this is looking back at the horrendous outfits your mother dressed you in. Your twin can't make fun of you since she was wearing the same thing.

3. You Are Opposites

When you give a girl a twin, you give her someone completely different from herself. Even when we were little, Justice has always been the sassy and serious one. The fact that we are polar opposites is the main reason why we are so close. We balance each other out and make up for whatever the other one lacks.

4. You Went to School Together

When you give a girl a twin, you give her someone to go through school with. Kindergarten all through high school you always had someone there for you. Same classes, same friends and the same sports teams. There was always someone rooting for you.

5. You Get A Best Friend

When you give a girl a twin, you are giving her a best friend. Someone who you can navigate the struggles of life with, and someone who will love you unconditionally. You have someone who you can share your deepest secrets with because they won't judge you, and someone who shares you dream of living right next door to each other when you are older. Most importantly, when you give a girl a twin, you are giving her the world. Not a day goes by where I don't think about how grateful I am that she was born 36 seconds after me.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
