When You Give A Girl A Little Sister... Or 2
Sylvana

When you give a girl little sisters, you are giving her a lot more than just a family.

When you give a girl little sisters...

You also give her a new next door neighbor. There will be some nights you lay in bed next to each other watching Netflix and not saying a word. On the other hand, some nights you will get a hairbrush thrown at your face for even thinking about stepping foot into her room. When you get lazy you will scream through the walls to communicate or run into each other at 2 AM when you both can't sleep.

When you give a girl little sisters...

You will also get a whole new closet... or 2. If none of your clothes seem to suffice, no worries, because those next door neighbors I mentioned above, they have closets just waiting to be raided. At first, its great but one day one of them will prance in wearing the shirt you spent hours looking for. The rest of the house knows World War III may break out because, let's be real, this fight happens every. single. day.

When you give a girl little sisters...

You will always be someone's role model. Whether they like to admit it or not you are their number 1 role model. You test the waters for them and set the rules of the house. You get grounded first so they don't have to once their turn comes around. You are the one they looked up to the most. You will see this as them copying you and being annoying, but it is actually quite flattering.

When you give a girl little sisters...

You will always have someone to laugh with. They know you better than anyone, maybe even better than you know yours. They see some of your most embarrassing moments and will laugh with you about them when the times right... or 5 minutes later.

When you give a girl little sisters...

You will never be bored. Especially if there's more than one. The house will never be empty. You can drag them along on your pointless errands, and who knows you may find something for you two to do for the day. Maybe build a picnic table or a hammock? Just some ideas.

When you give a girl little sisters...

Your bargaining skills become impeccable. You all have your chores to do around the house so when your day for doing dishes comes along and you don't want to do them you offer to up $2 to whoever's desperate enough. May the odds be ever in your favor.

When you give a girl little sisters...

You most importantly, get two automatic best friends. You may fight (a lot) but you know they will always have your back just like you have theirs. They have seen you at your lowest lows and been there to celebrate your highs. You have someone to laugh with and shoulders to cry on. They are there to keep your secrets and threaten to spill them if you don't do their chores but you do the same so you can't complain.

The best part about giving a girl little sisters is getting to watch them grow up into people. They are no longer the babies.

They are playing Varsity Soccer and volunteering at Veterinarians offices. They are achieving things that I would have never thought they would and that is the best part about giving a girl 2 little sisters.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
