When You Give A Girl A Little Sister

When You Give A Girl A Little Sister

You give her someone to spend lots of time with.

Whether you’re running your errands together or watching TV and just lounging around, she will be the first person you ask to go do something with you.

You give her someone to fight with.

We all know sister fights are a rather large part of childhood and even growing up. You might fight over who gets the last amount of food or who gets the shower first, but no matter what, you get over it because you can't stay mad at each other for longer than 20 minutes.

You give her someone to look up to.

Whether you know it or not, that little girl wants to grow up and be just like you. She wants to do things like you. She wants to speak like you. She wants to learn from you. She wants to dress like you. She wants to be YOU.

You give her someone to laugh with.

Though there are times when you just want to shake her like crazy, there will also be times where you’ll want to laugh so hard that you cannot breathe at all. The laughs shared with her will be some of the most memorable ones. Just you wait and see.

You give her someone to be proud of.

There will be plenty of times where you’ll want to stand up and scream at the top of your lungs that THAT is your little sister. You’ll want everyone to know. (Trust me, I’ve been there.) Whether she made an A on a test or she scored the game-winning points in her basketball game, you will never feel as proud.

And most importantly…

You give her a best friend.

Although your age might vary, she will become your best friend. You will learn that there isn’t anyone else you’d rather have as your little bit. You’ll learn that when things go wrong whether in your family or in life in general, she will be the first person you want by your side. She will encourage you in more ways than one. She will help you to want to be your best in everything you do and she will want you by her side through everything that she does. It's just how this sisterhood thing goes.

As an older sister, you know that nothing in this world would matter if it weren’t for that little girl.
