When You Give A Girl A Father

When you give a girl a loving father, her world is changed for the better.

She becomes a princess who her father reads stories to at bedtime. He makes up stories as well. Her favorite is of a flock of ducks who sit on a pond that freezes. The ducks all flew away with the frozen pond on their legs and that makes the little girl laugh hysterically.

At the park he pushes her on the swing, since that is her favorite part of the playground. When she gets tired he carries her in his strong arms back to the car to go home.

When you give a girl a kind father, she never questions how much she is loved. Her father comes to see her school talent shows, plays, and choir concerts and brings her flowers after the performances.

He lets her run errands with him on Saturdays and they always stop at Barnes and Noble Bookstore to look through some favorite books.

When you give a girl an intelligent father, she knows she is protected and safe. If anyone hurts her or is not good for her, her father comforts her and gives her advice as he listens to what is on her heart.

He shows her that she deserves the best; that she is valued and loved by her family and her Lord Jesus.

When you give a girl a wise father, he knows who is worthy of marrying his daughter. He can see that the man sitting before him at dinner asking for his daughter’s hand will take care of her and love her always.

Her father taught her to love this man the way the church loves Christ.

When you give a girl a godly father, she learns to trust in the Lord and lean on Him in all circumstances. Her father teaches her that by obeying the Lord in everything, even in the difficult times, God will bless her.

He teaches her to be herself and never change for other people. She learns that it is wonderful to be who God made her to be.

When you give a girl the best father, her world is made better each day by having him in her life. She knows she can look up to him and trust him forever.

When you give a girl a father, she is loved.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
