There is a children's book out there titled "Have You Filled A Bucket Today?"
This book has an amazing message that should be heard by the world.
The premise of the whole book is whether you are building people up and being kind or tearing people down and being rude. The bucket is symbolic of other people's lives and yours and it is up to you about whether you fill it with love and kindness or hate and hurt.
In the business of life, people are forgetting how to be kind and compassionate and patient. We are all about ourselves and where we need to be and what we need to do that we forget about those around us and the opportunities that are provided in our every day lives.
I don't believe anyone has ever felt bad about being kind or doing something nice for someone. So why don't we take the time to show a little kindness?
Changing your mindset into "what am I doing to help others?" rather than "what am I doing to help myself?" will change your whole day. Spreading love and kindness will make your day a little brighter and someone else's a whole lot brighter.
Pick something you need to work on. Whatever it may be: kindness, selflessness, patience, etc. Envision yourself carrying a bucket (or actually carry one like Bob Goff did as explained in his amazing book Everybody Always - definitely give that a read. You won't regret it). Then, work on and focus on filling that bucket every day with whatever aspect of your life you want to work on.
In return, you will be filling someone else's bucket and happiness is spread.
Be the best version of yourself you can be and lift people up instead of tearing them down. Take advice from a children's book and don't be a bucket dipper, be a bucket filler.
