The phrase is a fairly new concept. But the feelings have been around since there has been men and women, and perhaps men and men, even women and women! Those clammy hands, pounding heart, dry mouth, the inability to speak when that certain person is in the room. We've all experienced it, it's not a sickness (although it may seem like it), and it's quite common; we've all had crushes.
Whether it was in the seventh grade, or perhaps with someone who is now your boyfriend or girlfriend. But we've all gone through it. Some of us more successful than others, So I've asked a few of my friends what they've done when they've had crushes.
"I was hanging out with my crush one time and when I thought he was leaning in to kiss me, I punched him in the face."

"I have a huge crush on my orthodontist, so I asked him to my senior prom and he said yes, but the school said no. But he still texts me sometimes. I just wonder if he ever has dreams about my teeth because I know I have dreams about his."

"I asked my crush out to prom by rewriting the lyrics from "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis (They all say, only guys ask girls. But I can't help asking you to the prom.), got two of my friends to to play the ukulele behind me while I sang to him and held a sign that said "Prom?" With check boxes that said yes or no."

"I've used the pick up line; 'I noticed you noticing me and I wanted to give you a notice that I noticed you too.' And the guy was so confused he just said that it was weird and laughed at me. So I literally said 'I'm moon walking out of here.' and I did."

~Aysia, 18
"One time I wasn't sure whether to talk to my crush or not. And my friends wanted me to, so what do they do? They beat me up and pushed me over to him so I had to talk to him. Needless to say I was not prepared, and someone poked me in the eye."
