This is the time of year where college students are relaxing and reconnecting on spring break. Even if you do not travel over break, it does not mean you still can't have any fun. In fact, most people can have a good break without getting too wild. Unfortunately, mine is quickly coming to a close. Of course, I enjoyed the time off and can't wait to finish up this semester, but I could also use another two weeks away. I'm sure once everyone's spring break nears its end they will likewise experience these similar feelings.
The first stage is usually described as sadness and panic. You are wrapping up your time hanging out with friends and family. It was nice to actually have a chance to catch up with your loved ones. Also, all that work you promised to do over break has to be completed on Sunday night. How is it a school week drags on for a century but having a few days off goes by with a blink of the eye? If only there was a way to pause time.
Next, you are definitely going to miss the time you had to sleep in. Those early morning lectures sure take a lot out of a person. Both daylight savings and your alarm are going to hit you hard on Monday morning. You haven't even thought about the mounds of material. However, you most likely are missing seeing your friends from campus. An added bonus to visiting home over spring break is the delicious home cooked food. The campus cafeteria food just cannot beat your parents homemade food or your favorite local restaurant. You will also leave your house with packed food and treats to bring back with you. This is probably the best part about returning because having snacks is what gets me through the tough days.
Another difficulty many students face when returning from break is having to pack up all your things. If you are traveling a far distance for your week long vacation, reorganizing your stuff can become an arduous task. Especially if you are the type of individual who tends to forget things. Nothing makes you more frustrating than getting back to your dorm and realizing you forgot something you really wanted or needed.
No matter how you feel over break you still appreciate that you got time off to take a moment to breathe. I hope everyone's break was filled with laughs and overall enjoyable memories. This semester will be done and over before you know it, therefore you are just a few months away from completing another school year. Plus, there's only a few weeks till Easter. Midterms are over so just look forward to finsihing up this year with a bang!
