Dear people who are down or in a slump,

Keep pushing, do not give up. Life can be tough at times, but you can make it; keep working, and do not listen to others who want to make you quit. Do not quit on your dreams; make it happen. Everyone has a dream; nothing is impossible in life. I came from a lot of hardship and struggle, and if I can do it, so can you.

Through the past couple of weeks, I personally was in the biggest slump. I was struggling with school work and finding out what I was going to do over the upcoming summer. I was really stressed out, and I did not know if I was going to do anything over the summer. I was also wondering if I picked the wrong major in college.

Life has been going my way the past week; I got a paid internship writing for another website and another unpaid internship for another website. I am really grateful and happy my life is turning around for the better and that I am doing what I love to do. My mind is in a positive state now, not negative. To others, do what you love to do; no matter what, do not listen to negative talk from others. Work hard, and chase opportunities, and everything will fall into place. Instead of discouraging children and adults, we should be telling them to do what they want to do in life. I was always tempted in my life to quit and to throw everything away, but I did not. More importantly, I did not listen to others who talked negatively about me or my goals. At times, it was difficult for me not to listen or agree, but I did not let it get to me. People can be pretty cruel sometimes, you just have to shrug it off.

Working hard always pays off, no matter what. Keep working towards your own goals and what you want to do. Sulk in silence and let your success speak volumes. In my life, I always thought I was special or was unique. Day by day, I see that it is true. And day by day, my dreams are coming true. Opportunities come and go, so you need to jump on them. Do not let a good opportunity stray by. Even if it is an unpaid internship because an unpaid internship can come a long way in getting another great job. Apply to anything, and you will be surprised to see the result. You never know what could happen.

During the summer, I will be working for the couple of internships that I currently have, as well as possibly getting a real estate license and going to school for that. I will also be possibly making some music of my very own. At this point, I am experimenting with different skills and becoming versatile. Additionally, I will be getting a degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in the Fall semester of 2017. I will not be looking back, and I am pretty proud of what I have accomplished so far in my life. My parents never finished college or obtained a degree, but I am very close to getting one. Also, working some jobs and internships. My future looks pretty bright, so keep watching. To the people struggling or who are in a rough place, hold on, and keep moving forward. Stay out of trouble and focus on your own goals and ambitions. Life moves on, so never give up.

Sincerely,

Andreas, a guy who wants to make a difference in this world and who is going to be a somebody. A guy chasing his own goals and dreams.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
