I’m sure everyone has heard the phrase “When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade”, but what if you just really aren’t feeling like making that lemonade? And you’re just not sure how to add the sugar to make it taste just right?

This is life. Sometimes people have the worst things thrown at them and they don’t feel like making the best out of the situation, and sometimes that just has to be okay.

Optimists all over the world are sitting back telling people to make the best out of a situations, when sometimes there isn’t a way to make the best out of situations and hurting people are racking their brain trying to figure out how to make themselves happy when they should be working on improving themselves and finding inner peace with a situation.

Sometimes when someone faces a situation in their life where they just don’t feel up to their best in life, they’re dragging and they don’t know who or where to turn to next and they sink. They sink into their bed or their couch and they find comfort in all the familiar things around them, and sometimes thats just the way people handle things and its okay to feel this way.. as long as you don’t stay this way.

So today I want to give you 3 tips for making the best out of a situation, but not necessarily making lemonade

1. Journal.

Anytime I ever feel weak, sad, or upset, I always write. I write poetry and journal entries and anything under the sun. Sometimes writing your thoughts down into words will help compensate for the emotions that you’re feeling.

2. Don’t beat yourself up.

There is an ora over peoples sadness. People tend to beat themselves up when circumstances are testing them, but what I’ve realized is that the more self care and love you give yourself from a situation the better off the situation will be.

3. Remember that no one interprets your worth besides you.

Never, ever let anyone tell you that you are less than worthy. You are a strong human. You can walk, talk, and read and there is no reason to let someone else’s opinions of your situation describe who you are as a human being.

Just remember that when life gives you lemons, you don’t always have to make lemonade. Sometimes you can put the lemons on display for little while just to soak up all the decoration they may offer.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
