Sometimes life just goes your way and everything goes right. You get an A on your test and you find out great news and then, you have a wonderful, fun weekend, that is also productive. But sometimes, it seems like everything that could go wrong, does. It's not an easy time to get through and sometimes it can feel like the world is ending. However, it's not time to give up. It's time to find out how strong you are and pull through it, because you have already survived 100% of your worst days. It can be so tough, but there are ways to make life a lot easier during the tough time.
1. Eat a meal with someone you enjoy:
It may sound crazy, but take an hour or two and just really savor a meal with someone you enjoy. No outside interruptions, no phones, no outside commitment. I know it may be hard to leave the world behind for a few minutes but you'll feel so much better after you do.
2. Do a few things you love:
Make time for yourself during your toughest times to take some time for yourself and do some things you love. Read (or study) in the bath, visit somewhere you've always wanted, or just take five minutes to read an article you really wanted to but saved for later.
3. Follow through on your commitments:
Nothing will make you feel better than knowing that even when it was tough you managed to accomplish everything you committed to. It can also be a sense of pride which helps you build back to feeling great.
4. Most importantly, be kind to yourself:
When life gets tough from outside circumstances, it's hard to go as easy on yourself but it's most important during these times to be kind to yourself. Being hard on yourself is only going to make it worse and you have aim to become joyful again at some point. Being kind to yourself during these harder times, because everyone has them, will work out to your benefit in the future.
Everyone faces times when life isn't so great, but it's important to keep going and to push through the tough times with yourself, because in the end, the only person who has to deal with your emotions everyday is you. Find joy, even if it takes a little while to rediscover true joy and treat yourself well until you do.
