When Friends Become Family

A thank you letter to my framily.

When Friends Become Family
Movie Pilot

When friends become family, you are truly lucky. To have that extension of support and love is amazing.

Tonight I had dinner with my friends and their boyfriends and their friends. We all sat in the backyard around a picnic table using the brand new grill. The only way it could have looked more like "The Fast and the Furious" is if Dom and Letty were sitting at the head of the table.

These people are amazing. They are there for you whenever you need them for whatever you need. If you need a hand or a bodyguard. If you need a drinking buddy or workout partner. If you need to bury a body, they won't only lend you a shovel; they will help dig the hole. We have everyone you could need: a nurse and a doctor, a teacher and a decorator, a welder, an engineer and more.

It's amazing to hear these people talk and the way we can say and do anything, but in two minutes, everyone is fine because we all know we are just joking. We are all there for each other, to celebrate the good and to help with the bad. I haven't been a part of this group for very long, but I already feel like I belong and I am so grateful.

People like that are hard to find. I always knew I was lucky when I had just two friends, but now our group has grown thanks to their boyfriends and I wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you for letting me join the family.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.

What's up Asshat,

I've composed a list of things that I wish upon you, and they're harsh and cruel. These things are things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst of enemies, not even that Starbuck's barista who always screws up my order, not even him. You fall into a whole other category of hate. You surpass Starbucks barista. Congratulations, I'm actually a pretty nice person, making you worthy of every single bit of torture I wish upon you. What are these things I wish upon you you might ask?
