When Enough Is Enough

As women, we expect ourselves to be heroes, and that we can fix everything and everyone. THIS JUST IN: Contrary to popular belief, we actually can't.

Not everything can be fixed, and not everyone wants to be fixed.

This is when we need to learn to let go; we need to learn that there is a point when enough is actually enough. This point is our kryptonite. We will threaten, cry, and scream until we are blue in the face, but the act of backing away from an unfinished project is petrifying to us.

We find it our responsibility to make sure those we help stay safe and make the right decisions; however, we cannot be babysitters.

Women of the world, it is time to put yourself first.

If you are not taking care of yourself it is impossible to help anyone else. It's like when you are on a plane and they say put your mask on before assisting others; that is because if you run out of oxygen while helping others you will become no good to anyone.

The most important thing about a situation like this is to not get lost in it; you still have to worry about your own well being because if someone is not trying to help themselves you can't waste your life trying to keep theirs afloat. Similar to how you feel about this person is how your loved ones are worrying about you.

So ladies, as important to us as it is to help the ones we love, there has to be a point in which we can step back and realize that we can't allow someone to impact us negatively. We can try, but they will most likely be unsuccessful keeping their heads above water.

It is okay to try and help someone, but we have to be responsible and strong enough to know when we have to put our foot down and say "enough is enough."

Recently, an article on Total Sorority Move called 23 Things My Boyfriend Better Not Get Me For Christmas , was going around on social media. I hope the author of this was kidding or using digital sarcasm, but I am still repulsed and shocked by the lack of appreciation throughout this article. I would like to represent the girlfriends out there who disagree with her standpoint -- the girlfriends who would be more than happy to receive any of these gifts from their boyfriends.
