Do you ever feel like our education system is failing you? If you look closely to how our education system is run compared to other countries, you would see that it's broken and needs major revamping. Our education system is designed as a weed out system, rather than inspiring students to want to learn. The only reason the United States can compete with other countries is because of the work visas and how we bring in intellectual minds from all around the world. Most of the people who come out of our educational system are not motivated enough to do certain jobs. Other countries do more hands-on work in classes to prepare for jobs in the real world rather than learning through textbooks like we do in the United States.
This makes it hard for us to see the real life applications of the material we learn in class. In turn, teachers become less motivated because they have to share their passion through text books and standardized testing. It seems like a lot of teachers are not happy to be teaching, so students, of course, are not going to be excited about learning either. There are a lot of college students that drop out of engineering and medical classes because the beginner classes are made to scare you off and go for something easier. Basically, the passion is being squeezed right out of students in order to create this ideal person who just loves to do book work all day long. The education system should be pushing students to join things outside of school, so they can be well-rounded and have multiple job opportunities.
