When thinking about Fairfield University, you imagine the beautiful campus, your friends, professors, the amazing education and career opportunities, the Stag, and last but not least — Vineyard Vines.
For Fairfield students, it’s not a surprise that this preppy brand is so apparent everywhere you look. In fact, it’s hard to imagine any student on campus who doesn't have a Vineyard Vines hat, phone case, polo shirt, belt or shorts.
“It's so popular because there are so many Vineyard Vines locations by Fairfield and the Northeast is the preppy capital of America. It also combines the best of Lilly Pulitzer and Ralph Lauren to appeal to college students,” sophomore Katie Dempster said.
While many tend to gravitate toward the more neutral colors for their wardrobe, Vineyard Vines stands out because of its nautical theme and its pastel colored merchandise. If your outfit was Vineyard Vines from head to toe, you could potentially look like an Easter egg.
Not only do they offer some of the best formal attire, but they provide great performance wear for activities such as sailing, tennis and golf.
I have to admit that as a Fairfield student, I have bought more Vineyard Vines clothing than ever before. I even bought a new pink hat for the occasion of the upcoming school year.
According to Stephen Galyas, another sophomore at Fairfield, “I think so many students at Fairfield wear Vineyard Vines because it accentuates their personality and determination to succeed. Fairfield University is a very competitive school that fosters the idea of putting all of your effort into what you want to be. Vineyard Vines not only captures the eyes of college students, but also allows them to show who they are and who they want to be.”
Let’s face it, if Fairfield’s mascot wasn't a Stag, I am pretty sure it would be the classic Vineyard Vines whale.
